April Showers Bring May Flowers

We never thought the weather would get better, but it did.  My Kindergarten class planted the annual flowers in the planters outside the school last Wednesday.  Here we are:

Here I am with my friend, Shelby.

Here are my two friends, and classmates, Daniel and Trevor.

We had so much fun!

Today the Kindergarten class went to U of M's Interpretive Center and studied plants in the Organic Co-op Garden as well as flowers on a nature hike.  Here are some of the best moments!

Easter, Nature's Way

This year for Easter, Daddy and Mommy decided to try using natural colors for our egg dying.

We used beets, black tea, and blueberries in mason jars.

We tried different lengths of time, which became a science experiment.  Five minutes was the magic number.  Longer time didn't make the colors any brighter or darker.  However, less time seemed to make the color a bit lighter.  We also experimented with layering colors to see if the eggs would change. Here are some of the final eggs:

Happy 6th Birthday Zoe!

I was a very lucky girl this year!  We celebrated my 6th birthday a few days before the REAL date, with a friend party.  Unfortunately I got sick (fever, etc.) with an ear infection and had to go to Urgent Care, so Mommy forgot to take pictures of the party.  However, we had a Sundae on Sunday party, where everyone made individual and creative sundaes.

Then I celebrated my birthday with my schoolmates.

Here are my classmates (and Evie) singing Happy Birthday to me!

The cupcakes that Mommy made for school!

Then after school we went to On the Border for my Birthday dinner.  It was Mommy, Daddy, Evie, Grandma Martin, Grandpa Martin, Papa Tom, and Grammy.  Afterwards we opened presents and I blew out candles on my Hello Kitty cake!

Two days after my Birthday, my class opened for the DCS school play.  Here we are as "Alligators All Around."  Mommy helped us prepare for the show!

Then about a week later my gift from Uncle Joe came - Crazy Forts!  Here is the fort Mommy helped Evie and I build!

Happy Birthday to me! ;)

A Busy, and Snowy January

It seems that once Christmas is over there are not as many things to do.  But that was not true for our little family.

My Kindergarten class went to see Snow White at a local theater.  Mommy thought it was a great version (not the Disney one we all know), and the actors were really great.

The 5 of us Dearborn Christian Kindergarteners.

Then I had my first piano recital.  I did a duet with my Mommy and I played "Zoe's Silly Song."  This was a song I wrote all by myself.

Big smile from me to you!

Then my second tooth fell out.  What a VERY busy month.

Goodbye First Tooth

Yesterday evening I lost my first tooth!  Here I am with my present from Mommy for being such a trouper with the tooth.  It's Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer.  His nose blinks red and he sings a song!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

We had such a great time over the four-day Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  Evie and I posed for a couple pictures before eating turkey (Evie ate mac-n-cheese).  Evie saw her first movie at the theater: Tangled.  Papa Tom joined Mommy, me and Evie to see the really cool movie about Rapunzel.  We also visited Santa at the Henry Ford Museum.  Evie told him she wanted a baby Darth Vader, and I told him I wanted to be surprised!

Halloween Favorite Moments 2010

This year it was Mommy's turn to walk with Uncle Joe and us around the neighborhood.  Evie and I got a lot of great treasures, and we have a blast looking at all the decorations and spooky Halloween fun.

Here we are at a spooky witchy house!

Then our cousin, Emma, came over to celebrate with us!

We just LOVE passing out candy to the other children.
