We got our ears pierced. Mommy was so very proud of us, especially me. I overcame my fear of the initial pain, and was able to make this goal happen. After Evie had hers pierced she was overheard saying, "My dream finally came true!"

Summer Fun
This week Evie and I were in VBS. We spent last week running to different appointments for wellness check-ups and all that good stuff. So finally, this afternoon, Mommy said we are in official SUMMER mode. Only problem? The clouds are making the temperatures not very hot. But we don't care!
Here is a fun picture Mommy made of us today!

Dance Recital
Mommy wanted to post a video of my dance recital rehearsal. I am the girl who mainly stays in the front and middle!

2nd Grader and Orange Belt
Yesterday was my last day of 1st Grade. On awards day I got a bunch of awards. My fruit of the spirit is JOY, I got perfect attendance and I never received a homework card nor behavior card. I also went from Yellow belt to Orange belt yesterday with my best friend, Shelby! I also got a trophy for Best In Test. I even beat out the big kids in class!
Between the three parties yesterday and two more today, my Mommy is definitely tired. But I just say - BRING ON THE SUMMER!

Zoe's Poetry Slam
Even though I was very nervous, I made it through my little poem at today's 1st & 2nd Graders Poetry Slam.
Here is a picture my Mommy took of my with my mirror prop.
Here is a video of my performance. The sound is pretty soft - hopefully you can hear me:

Time Off of School
This week Evie and I had time off from school. We spent a lot of time having fun. Mommy (and Daddy) kept us as busy as possible, because neither enjoyed the fighting when we got bored.
Here are pictures from the busy week. They are only a small example of all the fun we had.
The following are pics from our visit to the African Wildlife Safari! It was our second trip - first one was two years ago: see here CLICK

Future Docs
One of my Birthday gifts this year was to attend Future Docs at Wayne State University this past Saturday. Daddy and I went, because it was a program for children 6-12. Evie is too young, and Mommy had to work.
I had such a great time holding a cow's eyeball, touching a cow's heart, drinking Shrek juice, making chemistry candy, having an ultrasound of my heart, having a picture taken of my eye, making a cast on my finger, and especially climbing aboard an ambulance. I would love to drive an ambulance one day!
Here are two pictures Daddy took (notice how I wasn't even holding my breath like the butterfly pictures):

My Butterfly Adventure
I have been afraid of butterflies since I can remember. I was very nervous when I heard our next field trip would be to a butterfly conservatory. I was even more upset when Mommy was not going to be able to come. Mommy had to speak at my school for career day. I became a bit less anxious when Grammy and Papa Tom said they'd come along.
After learning about different butterflies, we were able to let them land on us. My fear was conquered! Here are some pictures! By the way - I held my breath the entire time!

Science Fair & The Raingutter Regatta Race
Evie and I both participated in our school's Science Fair this year. My class did research on birds and their preference of bird food. Here I am with our class's project called Bon Appetweet!:
Evie's class did an experiment with flowers to see which dye colored the flowers best. Evie told Mommy that she dipped the end of a flower in blue colored water said, "CHEESE," and her teacher took her picture. Here Evie is with her project:
Then on Friday March 16th, Evie's class had their first Raingutter Regatta at the school. Evie was very worried her boat would not win, because Daddy and her worked REALLY hard to make it perfect. However, even though Evie didn't win she really had a great time!

The name of her boat was the S. S. Princess (very fitting Mommy says) |
Here is a video of the race. Notice that I run and hug Evie when it is over. She was crushed.

a February update
It has been a very busy winter, even if we have had VERY little snow. Mommy is thoroughly enjoying herself with the spring-like weather, but I would enjoy it I could make a big snowman like last year.
I have joined Karate and REALLY enjoy my classes twice a week. I hope to be a yellow belt very soon. Evie now has four stripes on her belt. She is also loving Karate.
Mommy was able to watch my ballet class recently. Here are a couple pictures from class!
A couple weeks ago, we had a day off from school. Mommy and Grammy took us to the Build-A-Bear store. Here we are building our bears! It was so much fun.

Evie Visits Santa
I am not a big fan of visiting Santa Claus (as seen here on my second visit):
So this year, Mommy gave us the choice to go or not to go. I chose to simply write a letter. However, Evie wanted to talk with him in person. Here she is from her visit yesterday:

Adventures in November
November has been a very busy month with us Ladybugs.
We had school field trips, a vacation, and a variety of very exciting adventures. Here are a few Mommy wanted to share:
First, we helped rake leaves with my school, as a way to give back to our wonderful community. Everyone had so much fun doing the community service! Mommy was heart-warmed at the overall help that was present.
Evie and I had a bit of time off from school in the last few weeks. One day Mommy took us to Jungle Java to play. We had a ton of fun!
Of course there was also the time off we had for Thanksgiving. Mommy and Daddy planned a fantastic vacation at Zehnder's Splash Village in Frankenmuth. We spent three days and two nights enjoying Christmas, fairies, and tons of water. It was a fabulous vacation.
We are now getting ready for Christmas by decorating the house, making homemade gifts, and listening to Christmas music on the radio. Hope you all had a wonderful November!
